Laura Yon has taught hatha yoga in the viniyoga tradition since 1992.  As a student and practitioner of Buddhism for 30 years, she integrates mindfulness into all of her work and teaching.

Laura began working in the massage, sports medicine and physical therapy fields in 1988. And now brings her presence and skill to helping elders and those in hospice transition with ease.

By moving with awareness of the body, breath, heart and mind, students develop a sense of calm and peacefulness which extends well beyond their yoga mat. Laura dedicates her life to helping others move with ease, open their hearts and quiet their minds.

In the End-of-Life field, Laura works as an End-of-Life Doula, practices hospice massage and is currently in a Buddhist Chaplaincy program through Upaya Zen Center.  Laura teaches that the more we can learn about and embrace death, the less fear we will have as we approach the end of our life and the more joyfully we will be able to live each day until then. As Ram Dass said, “Dying is perfectly safe”.

“I find Laura’s classes to be a subtle and gentle way of improving my mental and physical well-being.  It is a state of mind that often surprises me when I walk out of one of her classes. My body feels like it just has had an “interior” massage” and my mind seems more aware and responsive.”
